A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER
Why 'Flat Dumb and Happy' Exists
Hi, I’m Bill Smith, founder of 'Flat Dumb and Happy.' This organization was born from a deep understanding of the challenges veterans face when transitioning into civilian life. After my years in the military and law enforcement, I realized how vital it is to have a support system that truly understands the journey.
We’re here to provide that—connecting veterans and first responders with ambassadors who’ve been through it all. Whether you’re looking for guidance, resources, or just someone to have your back, our mission is to ensure no one has to navigate this path alone. Together, we can help each other rise to new heights.
Building a Network of Veteran Ambassadors
We’re laying the foundation for something powerful — a national network of Veteran Ambassadors.
These ambassadors will serve as local guides, mentors, and advocates for fellow veterans making the transition into law enforcement and other first responder roles. They’ll offer support rooted in experience, and connection built on trust.
The framework is in motion. The mission is clear.
